Compliance & Ethics: Omnia and the CPPCR Guidelines

Last updated: July 2026

Independence notice: Omnia is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with, nor endorsed or certified by, the Colegio de Profesionales en Psicología de Costa Rica (CPPCR). This page describes how Omnia is designed in alignment with the CPPCR's public guidelines. Always consult the official documents at psicologiacr.com.

In 2026 the CPPCR published binding guidelines on the ethical use of artificial intelligence and on the custody of clinical records. We read them as a design specification. This page maps, article by article, how Omnia aligns with them.

Article-by-article alignment

AI Arts. 1, 6, 7, 14

AI as support, never a substitute for professional judgment. No delegated decisions.

Every output is generated and presented as a working hypothesis for your assessment. The system is instructed never to issue directives, decisions or diagnostic statements; the professional always closes the loop.

AI Art. 8

No AI-generated diagnoses, diagnostic impressions or reports.

Omnia does not produce diagnoses. Every generated document carries a compliance notice stating that it is AI-assisted technical input, not a diagnosis, psychological report or prescription, and that it requires professional validation.

AI Arts. 4, 5, 10

No identifiable patient data in AI systems; full anonymization; exclusive-use accounts.

The clinical record is kept separate from the analysis engine. Each professional accesses only their own patients, under individual authenticated accounts, and patient identifiers are encrypted with AES-256-GCM inside the database itself. Your anonymization duty remains in force, and the architecture is built to support it.

AI Arts. 11, 13

Mandatory validation of AI outputs; sources must be cited.

Analyses cite the sources retrieved from the clinical knowledge base, and the product flow is designed so results land on your desk for validation, never on the patient’s.

AI Art. 12

Informed consent must disclose AI use.

Omnia documents its assistive nature in its terms and in this page, giving you precise language for the AI clause of your informed-consent form.

Records Arts. 10, 15, 18, 19

Documented access and minimum security: passwords, protected cloud, backups, access control; fully digital records for telepsychology.

Encrypted records on secured cloud infrastructure with additional field-level encryption for patient identifiers, per-professional access control, authenticated sessions, backups, and an audit trail that records every record access and every document export: a fully digital record fit for telepsychology practice.

Records Art. 6

10-year custody duty after the professional relationship ends.

Your records remain yours: permanent access, document generation, and one-click export of your complete clinical archive from your profile, so you can maintain your custody file throughout the required period.

Frequently asked questions

Is Omnia endorsed or certified by the CPPCR?

No. Omnia is an independent platform, with no affiliation to or endorsement from the Colegio de Profesionales en Psicología de Costa Rica. What we do is design the platform in alignment with its public guidelines. The official documents are available at psicologiacr.com.

Does Omnia issue diagnoses or decide treatments?

No. Every Omnia analysis is presented as reference hypotheses and perspectives for the professional’s assessment. Diagnosis, therapeutic decisions and responsibility always remain with the professional, in line with articles 6, 7, 8 and 14 of the AI guideline.

What happens with my patients’ data?

The clinical record lives encrypted and separated from the analysis engine, with each professional accessing only their own patients, and every access is recorded in an audit trail. Patient identifiers are stored encrypted inside the database. Your anonymization duty when using AI tools (articles 4, 5 and 10) still applies, and Omnia’s architecture is designed to make it easier to honor.

How does Omnia help with the informed-consent duty (article 12)?

Disclosing AI use in your informed consent is your professional duty. Omnia expressly documents its assistive nature, what it does and what it does not do, so you can incorporate it precisely into your AI clause.
